Frequently Asked Questions

What happens In CBT Sessions?

In CBT you and I will work together to develop a shared understanding of your problems. We will identify how your thoughts, feelings and behaviours affect your daily functioning. Then we may identify goals for you to work towards. We will determine a path that will help you achieve these goals or work towards them effectively.

To do this I will help you develop some skills that will help you with your difficulty. You may be given something to read or to think about during the week.

What sort of problems does CBT help?

Here are some of the problems listed by BABCP.

You may get tasks to complete during the week that will help you achieve your goals so you may be working more than the fifty minutes of the actual session.
